Happy Halloween!
I l-o-v-e Halloween! I look forward to it every year, picking out a costume and planning for the mountain of food I make for the weekly get together with the guys. I appreciate their indulging me and I figure it never hurts to bribe them with food. :)
I've had some fun costumes over the years. Last year I did Batman for hanging out with the guys...and I can't remember what for Halloween itself! Last year wasn't Amy Pond (red wig and all!), was it? I think it was, since the year before I was Gloria from Modern Family. It doesn't say on my Halloween 2013 post, but I think that's right.
This year I'm wearing the Batman t-shirt for work, when the senators and staff bring their kids around for trick-or-treating. It's nice 'cause it has a built-in cape and I can just wear it with black skinny jeans, black boots and boom! I'm done. :)I've actually already worn it once this year...to go out to Eagle Hollow Haunts. Some coworkers put together a group to go out there, costumes optional...which means I wore one. :) It didn't end up really mattering though...it was cold enough that I wore my coat most of the time and so the shirt didn't show.
Side track...I went to another haunted house last night...Scary Acres up in Omaha. It was a halloween/birthday thing. There were 3 people with birthdays this week, so a group of us from work (and stragglers I didn't know) went to Outback for dinner and then drive up to Omaha, so Dylan "could pay to get scared before he got old (ie. turned 25)." It was pretty fun...we went in the Master's Castle and the Haunted Woods. I think I liked Eagle Haunted Haunts better...they had cheap booze to "enhance" the experience. :)
For Halloween itself (today), I think it's going to be a pretty low key day. After the kids come by (at work) trick-or-treating, I'm planning to grab some dinner and going to see either Book of Life or Dracula Untold at the show. They both seem like fitting Halloween movies to me. :)
As far as costumes go, for the Sunday get together I plan to go the pirate route again this year...but with a different version this time. I found a black and red corset costume that I've looked at for years that was on sale for $24...so I finally grabbed it! I will be sure to post some pictures if a.) any get taken and b.) I don't hate all of them! :)
Enjoy and happy Halloween!
