Dinnerware

Over the years I have slowly acquired items for my future apartment...an IKEA cutting board, George Foreman panini maker (yay Macy's gift card!), a mixing bowl from World Market, bird themed salt & pepper shaker from ModCloth, the Fall Aspen Canvas from Pier 1 Imports (birthday present!), a round black and grey tablecloth from Anthropologie, a 30 piece glassware set from JC Penny (for $20...Black Friday FTW!), just to name a few. I look for cute stuff and good deals, grabbing things when I can afford them.

I have just made another fun purchase this past weekend for future home - two sets of the Pearl 16-Piece Dinnerware set from Sur La Table! They were on sale AND I had a 15% off coupon! Whoo hoo!

Made in Portugal, these off-white earthenware dishes are hardy without being too heavy and are dishwasher safe. And not made in China (duh), which is amazingly hard to find unless you're willing to fork over a bucket load of money!

I ran across these at the Sur La Table in Kansas City (Country Club Plaza) earlier this month and really liked them. They're detailed enough to be special, but simple enough to go with any kitchen style/color scheme. In the Pearl Dinnerware Collection they have a square version that I loved, but they don't come in a set and so the coupon wouldn't work for them (15% off a single item, a box set counting as "one item")...and putting a set together of the square ones would cost almost twice as much...so no thanks. :)

I am excited to add these to my collection and can't wait to try them out! :)

Enjoy and happy Tuesday! :)
