I'm a little vain about my hair.
There. I said it. 😏
Five or six years ago I started adding blue to my hair, from temporary chalk to have-to-bleach-first highlights. Because of my general dislike of attention and the lack of ostentatiousness in my demeanor/personality, I've been surprised at how much I like adding a fantasy (unnatural) color to my hair. It's a creative outlet that makes me smile and, strangely, feel more myself.

This was probably my least favorite iteration. The color just didn't pop.
After a while it settled into more of an overall tint, seen below.

But you know what? I want to do it anyway.
As my birthday gift to myself, I decided to go half-drastic and color the lower layers of my hair. It's been a really sucky year and I need to do something fun. 💙
So I give you Katie 3.5 (because it's for my 35th birthday, lol).
Yay blue. Makes me happy.

The day after my birthday (so, last night, lol) I actually recolored it with oVertone Extreme Blue to moisturize and darken it up a bit. Now it's super soft and a gorgeous darker blue. Hopefully I'll get some more pics the next few days that I can post at a later date.
P.S. In other good news, I just finished round 2 of the new progesterone + wild yam and my blood pressure went down again! When I took it a few days ago, it was 113/78!

Katie’s it turned out lovely. The history of your blue hair adventure was a fun pictorial, ha!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm glad you don't hate it...or at least aren't admitting to hating it! 😁
