Last Friday mom and I made a same-day trip down to Kansas City on an IKEA run (hence my lack of posting on Friday). We had a couple things to return and a few things to pick up, including a new office chair for mom.
Most of the scurrying (cleaning, de-cluttering, furniture moving and assembly) has been because my sister, Shelly, is coming to visit on Thursday. For those who don't know, I have an older half brother and sister who live in (around) Carson City, Nevada. This is Shelly's first trip out and naturally we want the house to look nice, since the Nebraska terrain and weather leave something to be desired. :)
One of the assembly projects I worked on this weekend was two tall Billy bookcases for my bedroom. I had a smaller tall book case and a short one there previously, but they weren't cutting it (at least a quarter of my books resided on the floor). The funny thing about the new shelves is they are already almost full! Expanding in the future is definitely going to take some creativity. :) My dream is to someday have a room where I can put the corner wraparound Billy case to make it feel like an official library.
The lights around the case were the only purchase I made on Prime Day (July 12th). They're plug-in LED fairy lights and I really like how they look around the books. It's kind of a dark wall, so they brighten things up a bit. The only negative thing I've noticed so far is that the plug itself gets warm when left plugged in for too long, so I don't leave them on for hours at a time.
Good luck this week! Stay cool! :)

P.S. A friend shared "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes with me a few months ago. I'm not a fan of the music video, so I'm stuck sharing a fan-made lyric video. The acoustic version with Shawn Mendes and Hallie Steinfeld is also pretty good.
