How do I know this, you ask? By checking my handy-dandy stain removal guide! :)

Basement Project 4.2
Mom and I drove down to Kansas City this week for the long awaited IKEA run. We were able to fit almost everything into my car...and a second run might be required. The big ticket item was the couch I've been wanting for months. I managed to assemble it solo (not for lack of help offered, I'm just like doing these kind of projects myself) in under three hours - or in less time than it took to watch Public Enemies and The Birdcage. Not too shabby! :)
We unpacked the couch in sections (I bought a corner section and a chaise) and I assembled one at a time. The directions cracked me up. They use pictures instead of words (saves having to translate it into 500 languages) and I just love the happy little comic dude. While I didn't think it was that hard to put together, I doubt I was doing it with that cheery little smile on my face. :)

This is the semi-final round of this project. I'm planning to buy another corner section (which didn't fit in the car this trip) to put where the bar is currently located...at which point I'll have to find the bar a new home. I also want a small table (also didn't fit in the car) to put to the left of the couch. Until then, I think it turned out really well!
On the drive home we stopped at an amazing little kitchen store called Pryde's Kitchen, where I found this little bird bowl. It was so darn cute I couldn't pass it up. Plus, it kind of matched the blue buckets in the short bookcase, tying them together...right? Right?! :D
Now to make sure there's still some wine left after tonight! Happy Friday! :)

P.S. Thanks to what I've decided to call "Montezuma's revenge without going to Mexico," I'm down about 3-4 pounds. Since I was sick for so long (still not 100%), I'm pretty sure it was the flu. Stupid, evil virus. :(
P.P.S. I just noticed my 3 Year Anniversary of blogging went by on April 29th! So happy belated anniversary to me! :)
