Concert #2

Last night I got to attend Concert #2 of 2015 - Vance Joy with the Rising Young Sons. It was very last minute and a nice surprise. Someone offered two tickets to my office mate, but he and his girlfriend were busy so he asked if I wanted to go. I quickly contacted my friend Katie P., who was in town this weekend, to see if she could join me. Luckily she was available, so we met up downtown at 7:45pm and headed down to the Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Another nice surprise was that the tickets were for a box. A premium level, where-normal-people-can't-afford-to-sit box. Pretty cool. :) We arrived before the Rising Young Sons started, which was a miracle, since I'm never early for anything. They were ok...not my favorite or someone I'd take the time to buy their music.

Vance Joy was much better and worth the last minute trip downtown. Several songs were familiar, but the one that I recognized (and that is his most popular, apparently) and that he ended the night with was "Riptide." Another one I liked was "Red eye." He had a nice mellow voice...something I'd like to have on in the background when I'm reading.

It was also fun to have an excuse to wear one of my favorite pairs of high heel boots. I don't get to wear them very often...they're not super office appropriate (4" heels!), although I have worn them anyway a couple of times...and as the weather gets warmer, the less I can justify wearing boots (or convince my mother that I'm not weird for wearing them). :)

That was my exciting Thursday night. It was great to connect with Katie while she was in town. I hadn't had a chance to talk to her since she got engaged a month ago and so finally got to hear her engagement story!

TGIF and have a great weekend!

~ Katie
