Blargh

I figured this would make a fitting update to Tuesdays post....

I went to Biotest Wednesday and yesterday, hoping to donate. But it was not to be. My blood pressure was up* and they are really picky about letting people donate.

On the one hand, I'm cool with it. It's good that they are careful and want to make sure they're not putting to much stress on your system. Better than them not caring about your health and letting you donate when you probably shouldn't.

On the other hand, aaarghh! It's really annoying to wait around for 30-45 minutes for nothing, especially when you've psyched yourself up to face a giant ass needle and then tis for naught.

It also does nothing for my stress levels...which are apparently higher than I was willing to admit. Getting "deferred" certainly didn't help and pushed me over some kind of edge...nothing terrible, just annoying. Because of the allergy meds I take, I can have trouble with heart palpitations. It's aggravated by stress and caffeine (Mountain Dew is not my friend) and only flares up occasionally.

Cue flare up.

Back in February of 2012 I got really sick from the plague that was going around and accidentally ended up taking too many decongestants (sorry, I just wanted to breathe!). This landed me in the ER when I woke up at 6am on a Saturday morning feeling like I'd just run a marathon and my heart was trying to leap out of my chest. Turned out that it was just the meds working their way out of my systems (I'd stopped taking all allergy & cold meds the night before) and I wasn't having a heart attack. The plus side to the trip (ie. not the ER bills) was that my heart got a clean bill of health and I found out the unfortunate pulmonary flutterings weren't something to worry about on a grand scale. It's nice to know so that I'm not freaking out about it at times like this...but it doesn't make the palpitations themselves any less annoying.

So things are just....aaarghh right now. Life, money, work, changing jobs...change in general, which I hate...the holidays...out-of-state mistakes rearing their heads to make me miserable...all the things! I just really want someone to hold me tight and remind me that everything is going to be ok. Eventually. Someday. In a galaxy far, far away.

(bangs head on desk)

There may need to be a pedicure and a massage chair in my immediate future. For any male reading this, those two things equal relaxation and stress relief. :)

Speaking of pedicures, my JustFab boots arrived yesterday (the Meribora and Darlene) and I love them. And I got Microsoft Office** (yay for REAL Word!) put back on my computer today. So that's something. :)

* It was up for me. It was still well within the "normal" range.

** We'd had this open source Libre Office garbage for about two years. It was free, which is why IT had decided to use it...but it was definitely a case of "you get what you pay for." :S
