This is a perfect post following my recent trip to Ikea, because they probably sell all the things you'd need to accomplish these space saving tips. I think my favorite is the knife rack attached to the bottom of a cabinet. Every time you pulled one out, you could brandish it like a sword and look like a badass. :)

And speaking of Ikea...I'm going to head off topic for a sec to write a quick pitch for the
Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. I didn't even know it existed until a couple months ago and really enjoyed the quick trip I made there this last Saturday. The weather finally cleared up (it rained Thurs. and Fri.) and was pretty much perfect while mom and I walked around outside, enjoying the sweeping lawn and "bark in the park," where visitors could bring their furry friends to festivities outside the museum. Another cool family event they have coming up is the
Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival on Nov. 2nd. I have a feeling it will be entertaining. :) I was really impressed with the
European art section - which was pretty much the only part we got to see in our short visit, other than the grounds, which we walked before heading inside. There were several pieces I recognized, which is always interesting. Oddly enough, another really cool part of the museum was the
Rozzelle Court Restaurant. Styled to look like a 15th century Italian courtyard, it truly brought a piece of Italy to Kansas. The detailing was amazing and very beautiful, which you don't expect to see in a museum restaurant. It was a very nice surprise.
Alright, back to organizing ideas! :)

Range Rover - Six space-saving kitchen tricks
Whether you live in a sprawling mansion or a tiny apartment, one thing’s for sure: There’s never enough kitchen storage. (What? You couldn’t possibly throw out that Disney mug from 1996.)
Luckily, we’ve drummed up six surprising space-saving tricks to buy you just a little more room in that battle to hold on to everything you’ve ever owned.
FOR YOUR SERVINGWARE
Diagonal drawer storage is a way better use of space.
FOR YOUR CLEANING SUPPLIES
Make more room under your sink by hanging products from a metal rod.
FOR YOUR KNIVES
Keep cutlery off your countertop with an under-cabinet storage block.
FOR YOUR CUTTING BOARDS
Use tension rods to organize your trays and chopping surfaces.
FOR YOUR POTS AND PANS
Neatly store them in a deep cabinet with the help of a gliding rack.
FOR YOUR SPICES
Make use of vertical space (and easily locate the cumin!) with a magnetic rack.
Enjoy and happy Tuesday.
