Ok gentlemen, I'm officially letting you off the hook for this one. It's a "women's only" post! :)
Are they gone? Yes? Ok...
It is a well known fact that I am a sucker for good marketing...put keys or a bird on it and you have just vastly increased the chances I will buy that shirt/purse/etc. Clever names also get me...and poorly named companies or products will definitely keep me from buying something. Spell your name wrong and I'm out.
But I digress.
I got an email from Verilymag.com - a low key women's magazine about style, relationships, lifestyle and culture - about a company called Dear Kate...that sells "revolutionary underwear."
That's right. I said underwear.
I love their "About" section:
Our Version of the Girl Code: your best friend always has your back, so why not your underwear? It's time our underpinnings stepped up to the challenge. We're deconstructing our delicates and starting a lingerie liberation. Dear Kate creates revolutionary underthings because we think a quick getaway should be the last thing on your mind. You've got things to do, lady. So shimmy, hop, stomp, romp and do your thing. We've got you covered."
Our Start: Recognizing that most lingerie cannot keep up with a woman’s body, chemical engineer Julie Sygiel knew there had to be a better alternative to “period panties” and embarrassing mishaps. So she hit the lab and developed the silky-soft, patent-pending fabric behind each pair of Dear Kates. Made in NYC, each pair is wicking, stain releasing, and leak-resistant—preparing you for everything from cardio to just another day hanging out with aunt flo.
See why this is a "ladies only" post? :)
After running across the website, I waited a while before ordering because....due to the good quality of these American made underthings, they are a bit pricey. I caved when I got a 20% off coupon (the amount it took off was about how much I usually spend on underwear). I decided to buy a pair of Margot brief, because of the complete coverage and color (blue with black trim).
And I have to say...big fan. They're comfortable, pretty and just about guarantee an embarrassment-free "that time of the month." I don't know that I'll buy another pair any time soon because of the price, but having at least one pair for situations when peace-of-mind is really important (meetings, outings, concerts) is sure nice.
I'm sure there are other companies that offer similar products for less money, but I like buying things made in the USA, especially from small starter companies. You put the effort into making a good quality product that is both practical and pretty, and I will try to support you.
Not going to lie, the company name helped convince me to try them out too. :)
Enjoy and happy Tuesday!
~ Katie
