Bedrooms to covet

Some people think that having a nice bedroom or making the bedroom a priority in your design choices isn't necessary...how much time do you actually spend in there, after all? I would argue that a bedroom should be somewhere you actually enjoy spending time and thus by necessity be one of the nicest rooms in the house.

A good bedroom can function as much more than just a place to sleep. If set up well (and given sufficient room), they can double as a personal library where you would enjoy curling up with a good book or to watch a movie, enjoying a nice glass of wine...or a hot chocolate on a cool fall evening.

Yes. Just all kinds of yes. The view! The fireplace and sitting area! The giant pillows! The huge window with the build-in bookshelves below it! The open beams on the ceiling! I would never want to leave this room! Ever!

The question for this room is what's not to like?! With ample space, high ceilings, lots of windows, a big comfy bed and several places to sit, relax, have a nice conversation or read a book, this room is darn near perfect. The huge mirror on the right wall would be fantastic for checking your potential outfit, since you can see all of you (from one side) at once, unlike a normal bathroom mirror that generally just shows you from the waist up.

And now for the more realistic bedroom. :)  I've always been a big fan of exposed brick as the background of a room. I think it creates a clean, sharp look and is fun to decorate. I really like the off-white and black used in this room, for the bedding, side table and the lamp attached to the wall. I could be very happy in this room. :)

Enjoy and happy decorating!
