After watching the commercials for Now You See Me and seeing that Morgan Freeman and Michael Cain were both in it (yay for the Lucius Fox and Alfred reunion!), I decided I wanted to see it. And even though they aren't the main actors in it, I still think it was a good decision! :)
The basic plot is four solo magic acts - a mentalist/hypnotist, an escape artist, a prestidigitator and an illusionist - are brought together by an unknown benefactor to accomplish an ever unfolding plan, while dodging the authorities who are investigating their high jinks.
I enjoyed the twists and magic, so I don't want to give anything way by explaining too much. The storyline is fairly tight and the tricks impressive - I also liked that they basically explained how things worked as they go along, so there wasn't a lot of "nuh uh, that can't really happen!" moments. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending...I was left feeling "so, what now?" But other than that, it was an entertaining movie with a minimal amount of objectionable content. It definitely earned it's PG-13 rating, but also wasn't horribly offensive. For more specifics on that, check out the PluggedIn review.
So if you're looking for an entertaining, sit-back-and-relax movie...before or after watching the new Man of Steel movie, which comes out at midnight tonight...I would recommend going to see Now You See Me!
