Trick or Treat

I love Halloween. I look forward to it all year.

I love the costumes - the excuse to dress up and the plethora of options.

My boss was kind enough to indulge me, letting me (over)decorate the office for the Capitol trick-or-treaters. Senators and staff bring their kids around to offices sporting a orange pumpkin sign outside their door, filling the building with tiny Spider-men, lady bugs, Transformers, cowgirls, dinosaurs and princesses.

Apparently there's a giant spider loose in our office!

Maybe slow down to knock next time?

The Capitol is "lovingly" called the Batcave.

Our wing'd friends guiding you to the candy!

This year I added a blue pumpkin to my sign, alerting parents that there were non-food items available, in case we had any trick-or-treaters with food allergies.

I've watched Doctor Who from the 8th Doctor onward (9th, 10th - my personal favorite, 11th, 12th and 13th) and, while Jodie Whittaker/13th Doctor is my least favorite, I really liked the skirt and suspenders that came out from Her Universe. Unlike my costume from last night (see below), this was office appropriate, so I cracked it out while the trick-or-treaters were wandering the halls.

I bought a Kaylee from Firefly costume to wear this year, but thanks to the delicious food in NYC, it no longer fit. 😐 That being the case, I recycled a costume for a Halloween party last night. A friend hosts a movie night on Wednesdays and, since it was the night before Halloween, consented to have a costume game & movie night. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, but I did find some from last year.

My hair is a little shorter and bluer now, but otherwise I basically looked the same. 😊

Anyone else do something fun for Halloween? 👻🧛

  1. You did a great job decorating! I'll bet the kids had fun! It was sure a busy night of Trick or Treaters on our street. Great weather for it!
