Last weekend mom and I had a coffee date to plan out part of the trip to England next month. The actual trip itself has been booked - the flights, car rental, 3 nights in Bristol and 4 nights in London - but we still needed to work on the day-to-day specifics. And we got a few of those planned out.
- We bought tickets to visit Windsor Castle.

- Purchased Sunday matinee tickets to Witness for the Prosecution, a play by Agatha Christie. County Hall theater, where it is being performed, is absolutely perfect. The play itself takes place in a courtroom setting...and the theatre used to be a courthouse.
- And of course on Monday I will be attending the Lieutenant of Inishmore, the now highly acclaimed show of the season. Check out the trailer here.
We decided to get London Passes, which get us into many tourist-y attractions for free (and in the "fast lane" for some). Mom and I used something similar on our first trip to NYC and it worked out really well. This one covers a lot of places I really want to visit:
- Tower of London
- Tower Bridge
- Westminster Abbey
- Kensington Palace
- Windsor Castle
- Winston Churchill's War Room (I've heard the Winston Churchill pub across the street is quite good)- Kew Gardens
- The View from the Shard
- London Zoo
- a Thames River Boat Cruise
- a hop-on-hop-off bus
- etc, etc, etc.
Some other things I want to visit that aren't on that list are:
- The London Eye
- Hatchards BookSellers, Picadilly - Hatchards is the Queen’s official book supplier, and it’s served all manner of bookworms, including Oscar Wilde, since 1797.
- Afternoon tea in the Oscar Wilde Lounge at the Hotel Cafe Royal.
- Visit the Agatha Christie Memorial (right around the corner from the Noel Coward Theatre)
- Mr. Fogg's Tavern for a photo op (it's across the street from the Noel Coward Theater)! Hopefully the flowers will be on display!
I'm sure there are places I'm forgetting, but they can always be added to the list! :)
Next round we'll have to decide what we want to do around Bristol. I know we plan to visit Bath and the Cotswolds, but in a generic, non-specific kind of way.
Any favorite places in and around London that you would care to share?
~ Katie Q.

Awe that sounds so fun! One of my favorite things Marie and I did in our quick trip to London a few years ago was attend high tea at the Savoy! I fun way to relax for an afternoon rest and cool experience if you like that kind of thing!
