Last night mom and I went to the Lindsey Stirling concert at the Pinewood Bowl. It's the first time I've been out there. Most events are in the summer and up till now I have been unwilling to endure the heat, humidity and insect infestation....but Lindsey was finally a big enough draw to get me out there. Thankfully the weather was really nice and it went well, other than there being endless swarms of mosquitoes. Thank heavens for bug spray, although I'm probably going to smell like it for a week!
Other than being a little self help-y, Lindsey was great. She has so much energy, it's incredible. She's a great performer and definitely worth seeing. She played some of my favorites...Shatter Me, the Phantom of the Opera medley and Roundtable Rival. The only ones she didn't do that I really like were Radioactive and Mission Impossible.
I would definitely recommend attending her concert if you're ever able!

On a completely different note, my softball team won one of our games tonight! We played a double header...lost the first game and (drum roll) won the second. It's our first win of the season...aaand for last season, for that matter. We played this team last month and they beat us 10-4. Tonight it was back and forth as to who was winning, the final score 16-15. Once we got ahead about halfway through the game, the other team buckled down and started playing better...and began to be a bit a******-ish. Given their 2-4 record, I don't know what they had to be huffy about. And not all of them were poopheads...some of the players were low key and nice about it. But at least a couple of them were being real turds, making snide comments as we rounded the bases. I've never wanted to flip someone off so much before. Normally I'm not the flipping type...I generally prefer to punch people. :) But we won in the end, which was highly satisfying, given their poor attitude.
I also managed not to strike out (although once I was tagged out at first)...and I didn't fall on my face making a run for home. :) I slipped, put my hand out and struck a semi-split/squat Spiderman pose to come to a screeching stop between between third and home, before sprinting across homebase, narrowly missing being hit by a flying softball.
So yay. And neener neener...we won. :)
