Tomorrow night, American Idol seventh season winner David Cook is performing at the Bourbon Theatre in downtown Lincoln. I've never been to the Bourbon, though I've heard it's a good pretty venue. So far I haven't found anyone to go with me and I'm a little uncomfortable going by myself on a Saturday night, since it's smack dab in the middle of bar central on O Street...so we'll see. He performed at Rib Fest in Lincoln last year...but I didn't attend since it was the middle of summer and an outdoor performance. So no thank you. :)
One of the only seasons I've watched American Idol was the year David Cook won. It was the year of the Davids...David Cook and David Archuleta. I was rooting for Archuleta, but liked Cook too. I bought both their albums when they came out. While not one of his best songs, my favorite of David Cook's is "Paper Heart. One of his better ones is "Come back to me," which I have embedded below.
The only other fun thing happening is that Cinderella is opening this weekend. The trailers looked good and I'm planning to go see it. Fun fact: there's something of a real life "crossover" between Cinderella and Doctor Who. Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor, is dating Lily James, who plays Cinderella (also Lady Rose from Downton Abbey)...and Prince Charming, Richard Madden, is dating Jenna Coleman, the Impossible Girl - Clara Oswald.
