Style Me Pretty posted a link today on Facebook to a new app called Ziploop, a free receipt organizing app.
I wish someone had sent out an email about this app before I started Christmas shopping! I just downloaded it, so haven't had a chance to officially put it to the test...I did upload a "test" receipt and other than taking a while to upload and finalize, everything worked seamlessly. It brought the barcode to the top and center, pulled the pertinent information (company name, location, date of purchase, total of the bill, etc) from the receipt so you could easily see and access it. You are able to tag receipts by category, such as Apparel, Shoes, Christmas, Friend, Family, School, Charity, Tax, etc. And you can sort them Store, Date, Location, Tag or Amount.
They also have a "Rewards" section, where you can upload coupons or store rewards for easy on-the-go access. You can change the settings so that it alerts you when they're going to expire or to delete them after x amount of time passes after the expire.
I like the idea of this app mostly because it would make returns a lot easier...you could just pull the receipt up on your phone, instead of digging through a pile of receipts to find the right one. It's also nice because all of your coupons and rewards would be in one, easily accessible place...although I already accomplish this by sticking all promotional emails with coupons into a "Coupons" folder in Gmail. :)
Enjoy and happy shopping!

wow... this is pretty darn cool. Be sure to let me know what you think. I could see me using this for my work receipts and categorizing them accordingly, airfare, gas, supplies, postage to name a few. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI thought of that too. I need to grab some of my receipts from Christmas shopping and up load them so I can play around with them and see how everything works.
