One of the few apps I have on my phone is Instagram, a fun photo editing and sharing program. If you have an account and want to find/follow me, my user name is Calkate21 (big surprise!) and the picture that comes up for me is of a pair of high heeled shoes (another shocker!). I have it set up so you have to request to follow me, but if I actually know you, don't worry...I'll say yes! :)
You can also follow people/groups/companies you don't actually know, like Josh Groban or BHLDN (an awesome bridal store owned by Anthropologie)...and apparently random famous animals, like Lil Bub. HelloGiggle posted a list of "10 Best Animals To Follow On Instagram," which included Lil Bub, the perpetual kitten, Darcy the Flying Hedgehog, a tiny hedgehog that has 188,000 followers on Instagram (of which I am now one) and Yogurt the Pirate Dog, a one-eyes chihuahua that's pathetically adorable. They listed out ten, but I chose to only follow those three...to see the complete list, click here.
And while there's no real reason to follow these cuddily critters on Instagram, I find their random pics make me smile throughout the day, which is always nice. So if you find yourself in the need of a random, calorie free pick-up on a dreary Monday morning (or Friday afternoon), I would highly suggest following one or more of the furry...or poky, if you're a hedgehog...bundles of cuteness.
And if you don't have an account with Instagram (but do have a smartphone), I would recommend adding it to your phone's repertoire of apps. It's a fun way to share pictures quickly, not only on your Instagram account, but it gives you the option to then share them on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and a handful of other social media websites as well. Ooh...and did I mention it's free?! :)
