I can't remember who told me about eShakti originally, but I've since become a big fan. They are an Indian (as in India!) based custom clothing company, featuring dresses, skirts, tops and jackets.
When you receive an order from them in the mail, it has international postage and stickers all over it, since it ships straight from India (New Delhi, I think). I've ordered a couple of their dresses in the past and have been very pleased with the quality and returns aren't difficult because they have a distribution location in Washington State where you send it, so you don't have to pay an insane amount in postage to send it back.
If you're a new customer, you get a $25 certificate for opening an account and is good for 21 days after its been issued. I believe they offer free shipping on that first order too.
One of the best features of eShakti is their customization. Depending on the dress (shirt, skirt), you can choose the length, the sleeves, the neckline...whether or not you want pockets. Not only does it help provide the best fit for your specific body type, it also helps it be unique, since it increases the chance that no one else picked those exact custom measurement.
Personally I check the length of the dress...most of them seem to come in a standard "below the knee" length, which does not look good on me (gives me a cut off, shortened look). I change that to "knee length" or "above the knee length," to help lengthen the look and show off my legs. The dress I wore to my parents 30th wedding anniversary Mass and dinner was from eShakti...sadly I don't think I have any pictures from that night...but it was really nice - both the evening and the dress.
I am currently in love with their Lillian Dress, in crimson or black. I'm having a really hard time not ordering it. I love the high back (I hate open backed dresses and shirts) and think it would be really flattering with the sweetheart neckline, fitted waist and fuller skirt. It would also look very cute with a jeans jacket (no, I don't think everything looks good with a jeans jacket, lol) for a more casual look. Hopefully I can maintain my resolve and not hit the "purchase" button! :)
